This week we’re Celebrating Women in Hip Hop Culture by Featuring our MAMA SOL!

Mama Sol (pronounced Soul) – lyrcist, spoken-word artist, activist and front woman for the Neo/Soul Hip Hop act Mama Sol & Tha N.U.T.S
While sharing the stage such as Mos Def, Destiny Child,Cee-Lo Green and Run DMC just to name a few. Mama Sol has alllowed her positive vibe and hope filled messages to be spread through her music. A visionary in her own right, her ability to see the greatest in everything around her and transform it into and extraordinary message through her dynamic lyrics is simply remarkable. She inspires others to not only embrace leadership, but claim it as their own.

The social impact of Hip Hop is a cultural revolution which crosses borders, inspires ideas & influences behaviors.
Encouraging freedom of expression, healthy competition, independent thought, & positive self-identity, this weekly event as a movement focuses on redefining the vital role of Women in Hip Hop.

Our mission is to educate and empower the community through sharing our love of the arts, while inspiring change and growth.

Featuring DJ’s Mel Wonder & La Jedi w B-Girl Mama (Hardcore Detroit), Sponsored by The Fembassy’s Glennisha Morgan

Co-Founded by Piper Carter along with Legendary Detroit Emcees Invincible & Miz Korona.
This evening is dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and creating empowering images of Women through Performance, Film, Videos, Internet and other forms of media. :Open Mic, Freestyle Cipher, Graffiti, B-Girls, showcases, special guests, & other surprises.

We have our Family in the house all female hiphop band YIN. Whose members were formerly in Detroit Rock band Lola Valley.

We call it The Foundation because we are dedicated to preserving the culture of Real Hip Hop and also because Women are the Foundation of the Universe!
